PHOTOGRAPHIC ASSOCIATION OF BELGHORIA

Photographic Association of Belghoria (PABEL) was established by some photo lovers, mainly Sri Benoy Bhushan Chakraborty in the year 1979 and with the guidance of the then Hon. Secretary General of Federation of Indian Photography Late Sri G. Thomas.  PABEL started  one year Certificate course and two years Diploma course in both Black & White and Colour photography since the formation of the Association in the year 1979 with the advice and guidance of Late Dr. Thomas. Sri Benoy Bhushan Chakraborty with the help of his students Shri Swapan Mitra, Shri Soumava Das, Miss Swapna Dutta and Shri Bijon Kumar Mondal conducted the courses successfully. The short name of Photographic Association of Belghoria as PABEL was proposed by eminent photo artist Sree Shanti Ranjan Mondal.

During the course of journey many eminent photo artists like Late Sree Benu Sen, Late Sree Dilip Bose, Sree Shanti Ranjan Mondal, Sree Debidas Banerjee, Sree Dhruba Dutta, Sree Kashinath Basu, Sree Shibnath Basu, Sree Amitava Sil, Late Sree Bhudeb Bhagat, Late Sree K. G. Maheshwari, Late Sree Sachin, Dr. Barun Sinha; and so many others helped PABEL to continue their activities for promoting art and culture through photography. With their blessings and co-operation PABEL organised 5 National and 4 International Salons.

Photographic Association of Belghoria also organised many workshops on Portrait and Table Top photography under the guidance of Late Sree Dilip Bose and Late Sree Sachin.

Members Photographic Association of Belghoria are thankful to all the Photo-artists and all Photo-lovers throughout the world.
