History Of Club
To describe in short about the history of the Association, I must remember first with Honour the name of Late Dr. G. Thomas, the then Secretary General of Federation of Indian Photography. Only getting his advice and guidance, we started one year Certificate course and two years Diploma course in both Black & White and Colour photography since the formation of our Association in the year 1979. In this connection I should remember the names of some students who helped me to conduct the courses successfully. They are Shri Swapan Mitra, Shri Soumava Das, Miss Swapna Dutta and Shri Bijon Kumar Mondal.
Gradually we came in contact with so many eminent photo artists like Late Sree Benu Sen, Late Sree Dilip Bose, Sree Shanti Ranjan Mondal, Sree Debidas Banerjee, Sree Dhruba Dutta, Sree Kashinath Basu, Sree Shibnath Basu, Sree Amitava Sil, Sree Bhudeb Bhagat, Late Sree K. G. Maheshwari, Late Sree Sachin and so many others. With their co-operation we organised 5 National and 2 International Salons earlier. We also organised many workshops on Portrait and Table Top photography under the guidance of Late Sree Dilip Bose and Late Sree Sachin.
The short name of Photographic Association of Belghoria was proposed by an eminent photo artist Sree S. R. Mondal. Thank you Sree Mondal.
